We can manage large or small scale projects depending on your needs.
  • We can manage new initiatives or conversion efforts. Can direct these efforts using either internal staff or outside consultants.
  • We can provide competitive bidding expertise as well as negotiations expertise in search and selection of outside consultant firms.

    See examples below :
Managed ‘outsourced’ PC training for all of Pratt & Whitney (1991-1994).

  • Reduced company-wide, desktop training expenses by $700K (33%) by negotiating a volume purchase agreement for PC Training.
  • Managed competitive bidding process (8 vendors) including RFP, RFQ, and ‘Best & Final’ procedures.
  • Researched low cost, high-quality, local vendors that had full time trainers and could support multi-plant training for as many as 10,000 possible customers.
  • Supervised PC Training Instructors (from winning vendor) while in-house. By providing low-cost, flexible, comprehensive training, enrollments grew from 1000 /year to 4000/year within this three-year period.
  • Guided the design and development of TRSTORE, a mainframe-based (PROFS/REXX) automated enrollment system. This REXX application created enrollment (and approval) vehicles to support entire Pratt & Whitney community (4 plants, over 10,000 audience). Information was fed into contractor data base to support the scheduling of training classes
  • Coordinated the development of executive summaries to depict the growth of training enrollments, by individual VP, over a three-year period. Facilitated the integration of P&W data (group code tables extracted from mainframe data bases) into contractor’s PARADOX database, thus creating summary data files.
  • Developed three-dimensional EXCEL graphs for executive presentations.

Coordinated Technical Training Programs for MIS and P&W Customer departments (high priority / visibility):

  • CMS to TSO conversion (MIS / contractor team effort) for over 1000 MIS staff
  • Win 3.1 to Win 95 conversion (MIS / customer / contractor team effort) for P&W Commercial Department
  • MS Mail to Exchange conversion (MIS / customer / contractor team effort) for P&W Product Support Department

Managed a large scale, MIS (Entry Level) Training Program (12 week curriculum) for P&W.

  • Managed mainframe training for over 300 new MIS staff members over a five-year period; supervised as many as six full-time MIS instructors (including four contractors).
  • Responsible for scheduling classes, monitoring student progress, recommending corrective actions, evaluating training effectiveness and directing student performance evaluations.

Initiated Skills Inventory System for all (1,200) P&W MIS staff to meet ISO 9001 requirement

  • Developed EXCEL workbooks to guide MIS supervision in gathering skills inventory data for their staff
  • This information was later assimilated into a company-wide, ACCESS data base

Chaired United Technologies Corporation Trainers Council.

  • In an inter-divisional teaming effort, this Council implemented an innovative, I.S. training curriculum (mainframe, PC and soft skills training) serving I.S. staff from all UTC divisions.
  • This council designed addition to UTC Leadership Center (three classrooms); negotiated agreements with and selected contractors to provide training.
